Microsoft Surface RT comes to Ireland

Microsoft Corp has announced that Microsoft Surface RT with Windows RT is now available for purchase in Ireland as well as 12 additional countries, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

In Ireland, Dixons Store Group will be the first retailer to offer Surface RT to consumers.

According to the company, the Surface family of PCs represents "an extension of the Windows experience, letting customers work, play and connect with the people who matter to them".

Speaking about the new development, Patrick Ward, Windows business manager, Microsoft, said: "The response to Surface has been hugely exciting to see. The phased rollout of Surface RT into new markets marks a pivotal moment for our customers who can now access and purchase Surface devices in more places than ever before."
