Michelle Obama sparred with White House advisers: book (Reuters)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) ? Popular first lady Michelle Obama has had testy relationships with some top White House advisers, and at times pushed the president to pursue politically difficult causes like healthcare and immigration reform, according to a new book.

"The Obamas" by New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor, paints Mrs. Obama as "an expert motivator and charmer" and "an increasingly canny political player" ahead of the 2012 presidential election, expected to be a tough fight for her husband, President Barack Obama.

Mrs. Obama fought against political tactics espoused by Rahm Emanuel, her husband's former chief of staff, and Robert Gibbs, the former White House press secretary, the book said, pushing her husband to replace advisers who she felt were "too insular, not strategic enough," according to excerpts from the book on the newspaper's website.

"'She feels as if our rudder isn't set right,'" the book quotes Barack Obama as telling aides.

The Obamas did not speak to Kantor for the book, which was based on interviews with more than 30 current and former staff members. It will be released on Tuesday.

The White House on Friday called the book "an overdramatization of old news" and said Kantor had not spoken to the Obamas since 2009.

"The emotions, thoughts and private moments described in the book, though often seemingly ascribed to the President and First Lady, reflect little more than the author's own thoughts," said Eric Schultz, a White House spokesman.

The book says Mrs. Obama, known for her campaign to promote healthy eating and exercise, initially sought a low-key role in the White House, and even considered postponing her move to Washington from Chicago after the 2008 election.

She was worried about being the first African-American first lady, and felt "everyone was waiting for a black woman to make a mistake," said a former aide quoted in the book.

Tensions arose between Mrs. Obama and Gibbs, who worried about public missteps. Valerie Jarrett, senior adviser to the president and a friend of the couple, tried to moderate, the book said.

Mrs. Obama supported her husband's "instincts for ambitious but unpopular initiatives like the overhaul of health care and immigration laws, casting herself as a foil to aides more intent on preserving congressional seats and poll numbers," the excerpts say.

"She does think there are worse things than losing an election," said Susan Sher, her former chief of staff, in the book. "Being true to yourself, for her, is definitely more important."

Pictures of the year: Moments that touched us

?If it bleeds, it leads? is an old clich? in journalism that to a large degree still hold today. When looking through photos of 2011 news events, you would be hard pressed to conclude that it was a very news year. But there were, wonderful, touching and uplifting moments that we all can recognize and share.

PFT: Despite Rex's denial, Jets are eyeing Peyton

Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson reacts late in the game against the San Diego Chargers during their NFL football game in OaklandReuters

Raiders coach Hue Jackson has made it clear that he wants to be involved in the search for a new G.M. in Oakland.? But Jackson doesn?t know whether he will be.

One man who will be involved in the process is former Packers G.M. Ron Wolf.? And there are indications that Jackson may not be comfortable with that approach.

Wolf is strongly advocating Packers director of football operations Reggie McKenzie.? Per a league source, Jackson believes that, if McKenzie lands in Oakland, he?ll bring along Packers assistant director of player personnel Eliot Wolf, with a promotion.

Eliot Wolf is the son of Ron Wolf.

Thus, Jackson?s desire to be involved in the G.M. search could be aimed at ensuring that the best person is hired for the job, not the person in the best position to Polianize the Raiders? front office.? Moreover, it will be important that Jackson and the new G.M. have a strong working relationship; in this regard, the Raiders need look no farther than the recent dysfunction in Kansas City between Scott Pioli and Todd Haley and the fairly recent ruckus in San Diego between A.J. Smith and Marty Schottenheimer.

We?ve previously speculated that Jackson?s contract likely gives him a straight-line reporting obligation to the owner of the team.? If that?s accurate, the coach and the G.M. will have equal status in the reconfigured Raiders front office.? Unless Mark Davis wants to be caught in the middle of two men who can?t get along, it?s important to ensure that Jackson is comfortable with ? and can work with ? whoever ends up getting the job.

In other words, any behind-the-scenes (or otherwise) maneuverings by Jackson and/or Ron Wolf aimed at getting Davis to side with either man as to the selection of a G.M. could be a precursor to the day-in, day-out squabbles that could unfold if Jackson believes he?s dealing with a front office that isn?t on the same page with him.

Of course, it?s also important that the G.M. not be a puppet for the coach.? And so Jackson can?t dominate the process of hiring someone who then would be indebted to Hue and thus unlikely to stand up to him when Hue projects the kind of hardheadedness that has emerged in some of his recent comments to the media.

The broader question for Davis could be whether Jackson will be able to properly work in true partnership fashion with any G.M.? If Davis thinks Jackson can?t, perhaps the right move for the franchise would be to use this occasion to hire a new coach, too.

First of all, all werewolves have increased sight, hearing, and smell. Vampires also have increased eyesight, hearing, and smell, but not as much as werewolves in werewolf forms. A werewolf in human form though has these senses slightly less then a vampire.

Vampires can survive in the sun if they have eaten. They also are fairly fast considering, but werewolves are faster in werewolf form when on all fours. Vampires can drain the blood of their victims to access their memories. Werewolves are also very strong. The Vampires however can carry weapons.

Werewolves/Lycans do NOT need a full moon to change, however, they do feel compelled to.

Note: There are very few differences between Half-bloods and pure bloods.

Pure Bloods:
Almost Total control over their werewolf form
More compelled to shift during a full moon, which made them fight for their lives and suffer during full moons when they had the collars on.
They don't have as much hunger
They are easier to sniff out to a vampire or other werewolves
Have more control over their anger, sadness, and rage
Silver does affect them more

Half Bloods:
Less control over their werewolf form
Less compelled to shift during a full moon, which helps the ones enslaved with the colars, but if they were free, they would then probably shift during a full moon.
A lot more hunger, due to the combination of a werewolf and human metabolism.
Harder to sniff out in crowds and towns, as they small partially human, making it harder for them to be tracked.
Less control over anger, sadness, and rage
Silver doesn't affect them as much as a pure blood werewolf, due to human DNA.

Other then that, they are practically the same, but still highly discriminated against. Often, half bloods are called "Vokur", which is just werewolf slang for "Mud Pup", which is a high insult upon werewolves.

SPeaking of slang:

Random slang words for various people to use:

"Vokur": Mud Pup, Half Blood insult
Parasite: Vampire insult, most hate being called this.
Feline: Calling a werewolf feline is not wise if it is not chained up, trapped, or badly wounded.....and i mean BADLY.....
"Shetz": Basically slang for a half blood calling a pure blood "weak, idiotic, and pathetic"
Monsters: Do i even need to explain how racist this is? Only humans, that are far away from any vampires or werewolves, that are brave, would speak this.
Apes: Generic anything on human insult

I think thats about it!

Oh, yeah, humans have the majority, just a FYI.

Oh, and due to lack of people expected to come now, we can start posting. Il just keep the lead hunter role for myself until someone else claims it.

Israel bans 12 Jewish extremists from West Bank

(AP)? JERUSALEM ? The Israeli military has banned 12 Jewish extremists from the West Bank for three to nine months because they are suspected in violence against Palestinians and Israeli soldiers.

The military had no comment when asked why the radicals were not arrested. The extremists were not identified in the military's statement Thursday.

The statement said the ban was a "preventative measure to remove the threat by the activists in the area."

Jewish radicals opposed to government actions against West Bank settlements have carried out a long line of attacks in recent months on Israeli military bases and Palestinian mosques, cemeteries, farmland and cars.

Critics have faulted Israeli officials for not cracking down on Jewish extremists.

Police Kill Gunman, 15, at Texas School

Pair sold the gun to the shooter who killed 12 kids

(AP) - Two men have confessed to illegally supplying a gun to the man who entered a Rio de Janeiro school, opened fire and killed at least 12 children before taking his own life, a police official said today. Charleston Souza de Lucena, 38, and Isaias de Souza, 48, said that they sold a gun to 23-year-old Wellington Oliveira and regretted having done so. The two men have not been charged. Under Brazilian law, prosecutors file charges only after police have finished investigating. More?
